NORTHUMBRIAN Water has achieved a double success in a national competition.

The firm's Kielder commercial team and the Customer Contact Centre, in Durham, have been shortlisted in The Daily Telegraph/Energis Customer Service Awards 2000.

The Kielder team, which includes 16 full-time staff, looks after 300,000 visitors a year, while in Durham, 100 staff deal with 600,000 customers a year, including 45,000 telephone calls every month.

Judges will now visit both centres and final judging will take place in November before an awards gala dinner at London's Royal Garden Hotel
