STUDENT Louise Tinkler, now the lone survivor of a death crash, has talked of her despair after a third friend lost her fight for life.

Louise, 28, spoke from her home at Chester-le-Street, County Durham, yesterday after learning of the death of 27-year-old Victoria Fisher.

Victoria, of Huddersfield, died in Leeds General Infirmary on Saturday, four days after she and friends Angela Ovington and Susan Briggs, both originally from the North-East, were struck by a BMW car which lost control and mounted a kerb.

Angela, a 28-year-old teach-er, originally from Vigo, Birtley, near Chester-le-Street, and 30-year-old Susan, a hospital web computer worker, formerly of Gilesgate, Dur-ham, both died on the night of the accident, last Tuesday, in Huddersfield.

Louise, 28, who was on a night out with her friends while visiting them in Huddersfield, only escaped by scrambling over a 5ft 6in wall, flinging herself inches from the path of the car.

Louise said Victoria, like Angela, was a primary school teacher in Huddersfield, who "really loved her kids".

She said: "I have felt lonely since Angela and Susan died, but my hopes were pinned on Victoria pulling through and now all of that is gone.

"I feel like a part of my life has gone with the three of them and that part of my life is gone forever.

"I feel very lonely not to have the three of them with me. We were all such great friends. I couldn't have wished for three better friends.

"It just seems so unfair. They were all so bright and just starting off in their careers."

Louise said the four were returning from a Huddersfield pub after having spent the earlier part of the day helping Angela and Susan move into their house.

Louise, who studied English and media at Huddersfield University, is now back at her parents' home in Chester-le-Street trying to come to terms with the deaths.

She intends to continue her studies by taking a masters degree in human resources at Northumbria University, Newcastle, but she must first brace herself for the funerals of her three friends.

A service will be staged for Susan at Durham Crematorium tomorrow, at 1.30pm.

Angela's funeral will be at Birtley Crematorium on Wed-nesday at 1pm.

l A 39-year-old man has been questioned and released on bail while police inquiries continue into the incident.
