SHOPPERS in a north Durham town will have the chance to talk to a team of energy experts about changes to their gas bills.

The team from British Gas will explain to shoppers in Consett how the company's plan to scrap standing charges could benefit them.

They will be in Safeway on Front Street between 10am and 5pm from Monday to Saturday, September 11 to 16.

The Consett event is part of roadshow organised by British Gas as a result of customer calls asking for money saving advice on gas and electricity.

North-East area manager Paul Waite said: "Consett residents will be able to pick up other tips and information to help them save money."
