DRIVEWAYS and pavements are being targeted by thieves.
Four incidents of paving slabs being stolen, mainly from private drives, in Bishop Auckland and West Auckland, have been recorded in the past week.
A Bishop Auckland police spokesman said: "They have taken 14 on one occasion, 30 on another occasion, and 32 in another incident. Obviously they need some kind of vehicle or pick-up to transport them, so I would ask people to be extra vigilant."
