TWIN boys taking the well-trodden Byker Grove route to TV stardom are being compared to cheeky duo Ant and Dec.
Alexander and Dominic Beebe, both 13, are identical and already have an army of teeny female admirers.
Talent spotters now reckon the pair could follow in the glittering footsteps of previous Byker Grove cast members Ant and Dec - alias Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly - TV presenter Donna Air and Purely Belter actor Chris Beattie.
A Byker Grove spokesman said: "We have a number of male actors who are real heart-throbs and Alex and Dominic have clearly joined them."
The brothers are pupils at Hermitage School, in Chester-le-Street.
Alex said: "We do get a bit of stick at school. It's just good fun. We would love to be the new Ant and Dec."
Dominic says he would like to work in television and has no problems with the fame aspect.
He said: "I would fly around the world if I had loads of money. I don't think there would be too many pressures."
