CONNOR Carr saved his mother's life twice in less than a year - and he is only three years old.

The youngster, from Highfield, Rowlands Gill, near Gateshead, won a Daily Mirror Pride of Britain award earlier this year after he dialled 999 when his mother, Debbie, had an epileptic seizure.

And recently he repeated his life-saving actions by calling an ambulance again when Debbie had another seizure.

Police rewarded him for his actions with a new bike and cycle helmet.

PC Dave Lunn, community beat manager of Rowlands Gill and Highfield, said: "Connor is an amazing little boy, and we wanted to do something to reward him.

"We knew he didn't have a bike, so we asked Halfords if they would like to donate one.

"They had already heard what he had done and were very keen to help out."

Inspector Norman Kirtlan said: "He is an absolutely wonderful young man, and he deserves the highest praise for what he has done."

Connor got to grips with his new bike outside Whickham police station.

"Now I can ride a bike like all the other kids," he said.

Police praised the youngster for the way he remained calm throughout his call to Northumbria Police control room, trying everything suggested by staff, including listening for signs of life and unlocking the door for police and ambulance staff.

Debbie said: "I was really proud of him after what he did the first time. It was brilliant that he did it again."
