A STUDENT who struck lucky on an Internet lottery plans to spend his winnings on the trip of a lifetime.
Nick Kitchener, a Computer Animation student at Teesside University, won £5,000 after he matched five numbers on the free Internet lottery www.thedailydraw.com. He now plans to spend his money travelling around Australia.
Nick said he was over the moon when he discovered he was a winner.
"I was really surprised as it was only the second time I'd played. I'm a student and money always comes in handy.
"I've been thinking of going travelling round Australia and Asia after I graduate in the summer, this money will give me the chance to have the experience of a lifetime."
The lottery is drawn at 4pm daily and players can win £1m. Players choose six numbers, then check their e-mail to see if they have won.
