ANTH Lormor is aiming to put his play-off experience to good use.

The Hartlepool United front-man faces Blackpool in the Third Division play-offs next week looking for a repeat of last time around.

Lormor was part of the victorious Chesterfield side that moved up to Division Two in 1995 - and six years after netting in the Wembley final would love a repeat show.

The final this season might be at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, but he admitted: "That was a great feeling to score in the final and that's what we want to happen again,'' said the former Newcastle front-runner.

"The experience the lads got from last year will help and it should spur us on to go one better this season.''

Lormor rounded off his League campaign with a goal in Saturday's win over Cardiff to take his tally to eight. He also teed up Craig Midgley for Pool's first goal and will partner either Kevin Henderson - provided he recovers from a groin injury - or Midgley at Bloomfield Road on Sunday.

And he is delighted to go into the play-offs on a three-game winning run after Pool stuttered to a trio of defeats at Easter.

He said: "Cardiff was one of those games where anything could have happened - they had nothing to lose and were going on holiday the next day, but we put in a good performance and showed a lot of character to come from behind.

"It was pleasing to end with a goal, I've had a few chances in the last few games but it just wasn't going for me. The goal might have come from a mistake, but no-one is taking it away from me.

"Beating Blackpool twice this season will count for nothing because in the play-offs it's nerves, pressure, experience, inexperience - call it what you want, but it comes into play.

"It's vital we get a good result at Blackpool on Sunday. We've had three wins on the belt which has been good after three defeats. Since the second-half at Leyton Orient we have turned things around.

"The gaffer had a little chat with us all after that game and asked for some effort in the last few games because we want to go into the play-offs on form and we have done just that.''

Turner saluted his summer buy from Mansfield, admitting: "He has played very well. He holds the ball up to bring teammates into play and, of course, he has a lot of experience.''

l Tickets go on sale today for Sunday's first-leg of the play-offs game at Bloomfield Road.

And Pool have also confirmed that the game will be beamed back live to Victoria Park.

Pool are expecting to receive 990 tickets for the away enclosure, but fans are asked to check with the club that tickets have arrived before heading to Victoria Park.

Blackpool were hoping to erect a temporary stand, but Pool now believe they the capacity will remain at 6,100 for the 3pm kick-off.
