AN 18-year-old man who was arrested after a weekend incident outside a North-East football club appeared in court yesterday charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
Gary Norman, from the Carville Estate, in Willington, County Durham, was given conditional bail by Sedgefield magistrates sitting at Newton Aycliffe.
He must attend Durham Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on June 6.
Another man has been questioned by police and released while they make further inquiries into an alleged brawl following an 18th birthday party at Crook FC's Millfield clubhouse on Saturday night.
Alex Harker, 17, from Milburn Street, in Crook, was critical but stable yesterday in Newcastle General Hospital, where he is being treated for serious head injuries
