SCHOOL sport in Hartlepool is to receive a boost from National Lottery funding.
The Local Education Authority has been awarded £470,080 by Sport England to implement a school sports co-ordinator programme.
Each secondary school will be able to appoint a coordinator to work in partnership with other secondary and primary schools to boost the quality and quantity of after-school sports and inter-school competition.
A partnership development manager will work with all schools.
Director of education Jeremy Fitt said: "This programme will allow schools to raise standards, as well as encouraging young people to achieve their sporting potential."
