THE future of the North-East will be put in the spotlight at a public lecture later this month.
Professor Fred Robinson is a visiting professor to the Faculty of Social Science at the University of Northumbria and a research lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Durham.
In his lecture, on Wednesday, May 30, he will look at the region's need for a vision now it is faced with the prospect of greater devolution.
He will assess the present state of the region, highlighting positive achievements but also the continuing widespread problems of deprivation.
The lecture will start at noon in Lecture Theatre One, Northumberland Building Annexe, University of Northumbria, in Newcastle
