AN engineering firm has succeeded in winning a major Government grant, which has enabled staff to install a state-of-the-art piece of machinery.
Allendale Components, based at the Longbeck Trading Estate in Marske, successfully applied for the DTI grant with the help of Business Link's Tees Valley office.
The cash is being used to help acquire a high-speed, five-axis machining centre.
The 11-tonne machine uses a highly specialised spindle to shape metal parts precisely. The parts will be used in production lines and machinery in the conveying, labelling, packaging and bar-coding industries.
