A RESTAURATEUR is planning to serve up a treat for charity.
Abid Hussein wants to raise £250,000 to fund two Macmillan nurses to work with cancer patients.
Inspired by the death of his brother, 31-year-old father of four, Altaf, in 1996, Abid has devised a menu for a charity bash at the Cleveland Tandoori, in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough in October.
Abid and his brother, Khadim, raised £1,088 with a fundraising effort last year. The brothers said they received huge support from shops, businesses and organisations.
Abid donated bone marrow to save Altaf who was recovering after surgery, when he caught an infection and died.
The appeal has so far raised £100,000. Durham County Cricket Club has donated a pair of tickets for several different matches and will be raffled at the restaurant on June 30
