AN exhibition of work by disabled people in Darlington proved a great success.
The demonstration by members of the Dimensions Disability Initiative was held at Darlington College of Technology as a celebration of Adult Learners' Week.
Dimensions has members aged between 18 and 65, all of whom have either a physical disability, or sensory impairment.
They have been attending the college to do various courses from disability equality training to confidence training and IT and computer literacy, which in turn have led to spin-off courses.
Councillor Dorothy Long visited the exhibition and presented the group with a plaque.
Members of Dimensions returned the compliment by presenting the mayor with examples of the craft work they have produced.
Rosemary Berks, service coordinator at Dimensions, said: "The event went really well and we are really pleased that so many people took the time to come along.
"And by the responses we have had from the evaluation forms we handed out, everybody has been extremely positive."
