Auckland and District Ebac Youth League - Crook Town lifted three cups in four days last week, including the Durham County Youth Cup for the first time.

The demanding programme started with a 5-0 victory over Willington at Spennymoor United to take the South West Durham President's Cup. Steve Roberts (2), Paul Freary, Adam Syemour and David Thompson got the goals.

Crook defeated Jarrow St Bedes 2-1 at Chester-le-Street to win the Durham County Youth Cup, Freary getting both goals.

It gave manager Billy Horn the distinction of winning the trophy with two separate clubs having previously taken Esh Winning to victory.

Crook beat Willington 3-0 at Spennymoor to retain the Lady Eden Hospital Cup with goals from Thompson and Roberts (2).

Willington Boys

THE Under-11s completed their season in style winning the last game 5-0 away to Tyneside Juniors in the Russell Foster Junior League. Benjamin Horn (2) and Glen Newton scored to give Willington a 3-0 half-time lead. Lee Broadley and Richard Evans added the second- half goals. Jake Henderson and Horn shared the man of the match award.

The Under-12s drew 4-4 at home to Plains Farm in their last game. David Dowson (2), Anthony Bakuris and Liam Hibbitts got the Willington goals with Michael Stoddart man of the match in an entertaining and exciting encounter.

Blackfyne

THE Under-12s ended their season with a 1-1 draw at home against Felling Magpies in the A and C Kelly Gateshead Youth League, Blackfyne's goal coming from Shaun Donaghy with man of the match going to Lee Calvert.

The Under-17s finished their season away to Chester-le-Street with an impressive 1-1 draw in the New County Youth League. Blackfyne's older lads can be proud of the performance against such a good team and could count themselves unlucky not to gainall the points after taking a first-half lead which they held until late in the second half. Goalscorer was Richie Foster with man of the match going to Robert Nichol.

Sedgefield Juniors

O again the Under-13s played two games last week and clinched promotion in dramatic style.

In a midweek game at Hartburn they won 3-0 with goals from Anthony Smyth, Ben Pugh and an own goal.

This set up a nail-biting final game away to Stokesley where the winner would join Kader in Division Two next season.

In a competitive game played in blistering heat, Sedgefield won 2-1 with goals early in either half scored by Kieron Cain and Anthony Smyth with Stokesley replying with a penalty. Sedgefield's have pipped Kader for the top spot and are promoted as champions.

Chester-Le-Street Town

THE Under-16s have completed an outstanding hat-trick of successive Premiership title wins in the Tyne and Wear Russell Foster Youth League.

Alan Coulson's juniors won the title on the last day of the season by leaping over visitors Sunderland Redhouse and Downhill (42 points) to win the title by a point with a 4-0 victory.

In a match completely dominated by the home side, Chester's superb football saw them 3-0 ahead at half-time through Mark Adamson, Craig Ellison and Dave Muirhead. In the second-half the Cestrians notched one more through Ellison.

Dave Muirhead just gained the edge on several contenders for the man of the match award, one of which, goalkeeper Ryan Rowntree - who had an outstanding game - has been called up for the England Boys Clubs team for the forthcoming home nations championship which will be held in Durham in July.

Chester manager Alan Coulson said, "Although this is the third time in a row we have won the trophy, it is the first time that we have done it by coming from behind on the run-in. Full credit to the lads on the day for an exceptional final performance, they wanted it badly and they got it in style."

The Under-17s have had a bit of anti climax to their league season after winning the league cup last month. Desperately struggling for a team over the past few weeks, due to a mountain of injury problems, they played out their season with two home draws. On Friday, Harton and Westoe were the visitors to Moor Park. The match was played out in a friendly manner contrasting the highly explosive atmosphere in the previous encounter back in March. The visitors, leading 2-0 at half-time through goals from Simon Blakey and Shaun Dunlavy, were undone by a spirited second half fightback from Chester who secured a point through an own goal and an excellent finish from Andrew Robinson after good work by Craig Patterson.

On Sunday, the U-17s entertained Blackfyne in their final match and again picked up a point. Richard Foster's superb 35-yard drive gave Blackfyne an interval lead but a good finish by Daniel Thomson brought the home side's equaliser a few minutes from time.

U-17 manager Andrew Muxworthy said, "Winning the league cup is slight consolation for our overall season's performance.

"At times, teams just haven't been able to get the ball off us. My feeling is that if we hadn't had to contend with unjury problems from early April to the end then I am sure we would have done better. The injury situation was very frustrating because I believe we've worked much harder than any other club to try and get players fit, and we got zero."

Chester-le-Street hope to enter the U-17 and U-18s in the Tyne and Wear Russell Foster Youth League and have both sides competing in the Durham County Cup. Significant changes are being made to the club's current youth policy and structure, which it is hoped will attract new talent to the club for next season. An announcement is expected in the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, both sides are on the look out for sponsorship. Anyone who feels they can help sponsor the junior sides should contact Andrew Muxworthy on 0191-370-3998
