LISTENERS to DJ Paul "Goffy" Gough's breakfast show got their first taste yesterday of the taunts of Darlington football boss George Reynolds.
The Century FM presenter had promised to broadcast a series of messages left on his phone by Mr Reynolds in the wake of Hartlepool's 5-1 play-off defeat by Blackpool.
A life-long Hartelpool fan, Goffy had found himself the target of taunts from the Quakers chairman, who bombarded him night and day with telephone calls.
Mr Reynolds is heard to say: "Oh dear, oh dear, what a mess - 5-1." He also says: "At least we are now both at the bottom of the third division, but we have a new stadium."
He urges Goffy to pick up the phone, as Darlington fans cheer in the background.
Goffy said: "It is a little bit sad and you would have thought he would have better things to do."
