SOME of the world's best skate-boarders rode into the region for a special exhibition of their talents.
Skate-boarders such as Scott Palmer, Andy Scott and Garry Woodward are huge celebrities in the skateboarding world and they, along with the biggest names in the sport from the US, descended on the R-Kade Skate and Board Park in Redcar.
Hundreds of youngsters and adults who had not already got tickets, queued for most of the day to ensure they were able to get a glimpse of the action
The park is at the back of the Mungle Jungle Amusement Centre, in Majuba Road, Redcar, and was chosen because of a vast choice of ramps and rides, which allowed the experts to show off the tricks of the trade.
Nicki Whaites, from the park, said it was the only opportunity for people in the North-East to see the group, which is considered to be the best in the world.
"We are very, very honoured to have them here and we have sold more than 300 tickets, plus whatever else we got on the door.
"The people range in age from five to 55."
