A GROUP of organic vegetable producers are turning to pedal power to help deliver their greens.
Called Growing Green, the group won a £500 community project grant from Darlington Borough Council to buy a specially-designed tricycle.
The cycle, designed and made by Cycles Maximus, will take to the streets of Darlington in the next few weeks, delivering the new season's vegetables to customers' homes.
Groups involved in projects to protect or improve the environment, and interested in applying for a council grant, should contact Rachel Wood, local agenda 21 officer, on (01325) 388551.
