A FOURTH man has been charged with the murder of Tyneside father-of-two Frederick Knights.
The unnamed 33-year-old man, from the Walker area of Newcastle, is due to appear before North Tyneside magistrates today.
Three other men have already been charged and are being held in custody.
Mr Knights, 38, was shot dead in front of his wife outside his mother's home in Langdale Close, Longbenton, near Newcastle, last September, as he was collecting birthday presents for his son.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said detectives were still trying to trace two other men in connection with the killing.
"Their whereabouts are unknown," said the spokesman. "These persons' solicitors are aware the police wish to speak to them, but they cannot be named for legal reasons.''
