THIS courageous little girl is to spearhead a national campaign to increase the number of organ donors.

Eighteen-month-old Bethany Salmon's life was saved by a pioneering liver and small bowel transplant.

Now she is to star in a poster campaign alongside her father and footballers Dion Dublin and David Ginola under the slogan "some things are more precious than goals".

The Aston Villa players visited Bethany at the Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital in Birmingham earlier this year as she lay critically ill waiting for a donor organ.

She eventually underwent a 20-hour operation in April after a donor was found and is expected to return to her home in Surrey this week.

The posters will be shown in schools, shops and doctors' surgeries around the country.
