A QUARTET of BSc (Hons) diagnostic radiography graduates from the University of Teesside shared their success when they all clinched their first posts as radiographers at Dryburn Hospital in County Durham, on the same day.
The foursome are Lisa Marley, 21, and Jonathan Slater, 28, both from Newton Aycliffe; Amy Llewellyn, 21, from Ingleby Barwick, and Jayne Richardson, 36, of Burden, Sunderland.
Mother-of-two, Jayne, is originally from Toronto, Canada, and came to Britain in 1991.
She has previous medical experience, having worked as a vet's technician.
Jayne said: "I always had an interest in radiography and the degree has given me the practical knowledge to pursue this career.
"I really enjoyed my final year dissertation, where I looked at radiation protection awareness in a sample of North-East veterinary surgeries."
Former Bassleton comprehensive school pupil Amy combined her studies with part-time work in a local supermarket.
She said: "The course was demanding, with placements and academic work, but I couldn't do this job without the experience of those placements.
"I was the first in my family to graduate from university and my parents, Neil and Elaine, were grinning from ear to ear when I received my degree!"
