Etherley professional Gary Cummings made his old club suffer as he plundered a century against Tudhoe at the weekend.

Cummings, who left Tudhoe two seasons ago, hit 113 out of a total of 236 for three, with fellow opener Lee Gowland also scoring 52 and Michael Crane an unbeaten 47.

Cummings then took two wickets at a cost of 26 runs, as Tudhoe were bowled out for 187, Stephen Davis scoring 84.

But Danny Hinge took the real bowling honours, taking seven for 53.

Champions Leadgate, still smarting from their 100-point deduction, bowled Esh Winning out for 38 to set up a six wicket victory. Stuart Graham took five for 14 as Esh soon returned to the pavilion, but Leadgate lost four wickets in reply.

Kimblesworth batsman Michael Fishwick also scored a century as they beat Evenwood by 170 runs.

Fishwick scored 124, and along with new signing Andrew Kelly (76) his side put on 275, losing only five wickets in the process.

Evenwood opener Neil Teasdale showed some resistance with 57, but they were bowled out for 105, Nigel Darling taking five for 57.

Crook Town won their first game of the season, beating Langley Park by four wickets. Langley put together a good total of 157 for eight, with Adam Cochrane top scoring with 68 and Peter Caulfield scoring 32, Andrew Coe taking four wickets in the Crook attack.

Crook professional Shahid Anwar then scored an unbeaten 87 to hold the Crook innings together and take maximum points.

Willington won their second game of the season, beating Brandon by six wickets.

Michael Tinkler took five for 31 as Brandon were bowled out for 153, Stephen Dunsford scoring 30 for Brandon. Willington's Trevor Clark and Neil Moore both had good knocks to set up victory.

Ushaw Moor beat Sedgefield by ten runs for their first win in a low scoring game.

Ushaw had Stephen Hancock to thank for 48 in the middle of the innings, which lifted them to 114 for eight. Brendan Jackson then took four for 24 as Sedgefield were bowled out for 104, despite a late 26 from David Iceton.

Mainsforth won a tight game at Shildon Railway by two runs.

After David Fishburn scored 44 for Mainsforth, David Thompson boosted their score with a late 27 along with Paul Purcell who scored the same, and that lifted Mainsforth to 166 for nine.

Shildon started well with 50 from Colin Barker, but they fell away at the end of their innings.
