CHILDREN from Coatham Primary School, Redcar, put their best foot forward for Walk to School Week yesterday - with a little help from Spike, a six-foot road hedgehog, the mascot of Redcar and Cleveland Council's road safety unit.
BP Wilton is helping sponsor the event by supplying fluorescent tabards for pupils to wear as they walk to school.
The borough's 46 schools are taking part in the iniative to persuade parents not to make school runs in cars.
