A DEALER who sold heroin to undercover police at a pre-arranged meeting has been spared jail.
George Elliott, 41, handed over £1,189 of the drug to officers disguised as addicts during Operation Blister in June last year.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how he was arrested after carrying out the deal in the car park of the After Dark club, South Shields, Tyneside.
Elliott, of Brunswick Street, South Shields, admitted supplying the drug in November last year.
He was sentenced to 12 months' probation yesterday after defence barrister Christopher Gumsley told the court how he had managed to stay out of trouble and away from drugs.
