NATIONAL PR and marketing agency, DTW, has been so successful from its base in Guisborough that it has bought the bank.

Situated above the NatWest Bank in the Market Place, the company has up until now rented office space in the bank building.

However, when the building recently went up for auction the directors at DTW decided to secure their place in the 168-year-old building by buying it. NatWest now rents its space from DTW.

Managing director Peter Whelan said: "We have been in Guisborough since we started up in 1989, and have grown so much since that we wanted to secure our place in the town.

"The only potential problem we see is a dearth of suitable modern office accommodation in the town for our future expansion."

This month, DTW was recognised as Teesside's largest public relations agency according to PR Week magazine's list of top 150 agencies across the country.

In the past year, staff numbers have risen from 18 to 26.
