MEMBERS of the public are getting their first glimpse of Durham's new £30m Millennium City development.
The arts and entertainment centre is due to open its doors in December, but some of the scaffolding has been removed, giving people an idea of what it will look like when finished.
The scheme, which will include the £14m Gala theatre and conference hall, is being developed by Durham City Council and was part-funded by the Millennium Commission. It will also house a film visitor centre devoted to the history of Durham, a new Tourist Information Centre, library and Millennium Square.
