ONE of Teesside's leading housing associations has moved to new purpose-built headquarters at Teesdale Park in Stockton.

Endeavour Housing Association commissioned the three-storey building in St Mark's Court, because of space constraints at its former offices in Grange Road, Middlesbrough.

To mark the official opening of the new building, Endeavour House, the association invited Jim Coulter, chief executive of the National Housing Federation, to carry out the opening.

Chief executive of Endeavour, Charlie Hughes, said: "The move was a necessary one because of the pressure of space. We simply outgrew our previous offices.

"The extra space and level access of Endeavour House is providing a better environment for staff, our tenants and other visitors."

He added: "We now have plenty of room for meetings and interviews, plenty of parking and space that is better suited to modern office technology while still in a central location."

The new office was developed by Terrace Hill, and the building was carried out by Thomas Armstrong.

Philip Leech, director of Terrace Hill, said: "As lead developer at Teesdale, Terrace Hill is committed to creating the highest standards of accommodation and environment - both critical factors if Teesside is to attract the calibre of inward investors that is needed to ensure its economic success in the future."

Endeavour Housing Association started out in two rooms at the top of Cleveland Council for Voluntary Services, in Princes Road, Middlesbrough, before moving to Borough Road and eventually Grange Road in Middlesbrough.

The Grange Road site is now being used by the Hope Foundation, an organisation providing training for people with learning disabilities
