NOMINATION forms are available for this year's Darlington Young Sportswinner of the Year award.
As well as the main award, which has been won previously by two Olympians, there will be a team or club award, a coach award and a service to sport award. Monthly winners will progress to an annual dinner where the overall awards will be announced.
The main sponsor of the awards is Orange, in association with Amec, the Master Skills Sporting Academy and Darlington Borough Council.
The 1998 winner, Nicola Jackson, went on to swim in the 2000 Sidney Olympics. Cyclist David Cook, the first ever winner, went on to ride in the Olympics and the Tour de France.
Nominees must live within Darlington borough or be a member of a Darlington-based sports group or school.
The first monthly presentation will be in June, with nominations required for martial arts, squash, badminton, hockey and table tennis.
Selection of the winners for the Young Sportswinner and team awards will be based on candidates' achievements in the previous 12 months.
Coach and service awards will be decided on achievements and progress during nominees' careers.
Forms are available from Janet Cooper on (01325) 243177.
