THESE are the two prime suspects captured on camera as they fled the scene of the cold-blooded execution of drugs cash tycoon Peter Beaumont-Gowling on Valentine's Day.

The CCTV footage was shown on BBC's Crimewatch programme last night, as police unveiled a £25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Beaumont-Gowling was killed at his home in Osborne Road, Jesmond, Tyneside.

He was shot a number of times at close range in his head, chest and back.with a small calibre handgun

Detective Superintendent Derek Storey, who is leading the investigation said police were now able to pinpoint the time of the shooting to within three minutes. "The time of the murder is believed to have happened between 2.01pm and 2.04pm on Wednesday, February 14," he said.

"The victim made a telephone call from his home to his hairdresser at 2.01pm that day. He made no further calls and all incoming calls to his home were unanswered.

"Also, two men were seen by a neighbour running from the front door area of his home at about 2.04pm with hoods pulled over their heads, even though it was a particularly warm, sunny day."

At the same time, a bus driver who had stopped to pick up passengers directly opposite the crime scene also saw the two men. They ran down Osborne Road and into Sanderson Road.

Det Supt Storey said Beaumont-Gowling, who came from Trimdon, County Durham, was well-known in the restaurant trade. He had associates in legitimate business while at the same time having an affinity with the criminal fraternity.

Beaumont-Gowling was released from jail 23 days before his murder, having served four years of an 11-year sentence for his part in a £2.5m money laundering scam.

l The first suspect is described as 20-30 years old, average build, about 5ft 9in, wearing dark blue cotton type top with hood, cream tracksuit-type bottoms - possibly with white stripes down the sides - and light coloured footwear.

The second man of a similar description had the same type of top but was wearing dark trousers or tracksuit bottoms and light coloured footwear.

The same CCTV footage also featured five vehicles police wish to trace.
