NATIONAL park chiefs will be warned that, without careful strategies, the Yorkshire Dales could be at risk of being "loved to death".

The authority which administers the area meets next week to discuss a park report, which encapsulates both the current position, and areas which could prove problematic in future years..

Among them is the chance that the region could become a victim of its own success if it does not plan for the future.

Congestion on the roads could prove one of the more immediate problems if the popularity of the Dales continues to grow. Other challenges include farming methods, increased mobility of the population, and even changing weather patterns.

A detailed management plan outlines suggested solutions, which the authority's members will debate at Bolton Abbey Village Hall on Tuesday.
