A village on the outskirts of Darlington has taken the delivery of a new pillar box.
After years of complaining to the postal authorities in Darlington, Middleton St George has received a post box with a bigger slot.
The old postboxes in the village would not take larger-sized envelopes, which caused problems, particularly for businesses.
Larger items could be handed over the counter during post office hours, but out-of-hours they had to be hand-delivered to Darlington.
A cash machine has also been installed at the village post office, meaning people no longer have to travel out of the village to get cash outside normal office hours.
