CHILDREN lit up the sky with colourful kites to mark the launch of a health scheme.
Local youngsters took part in yesterday's demonstration of exotic kites, including a pair of legs and a tiger's face, at Preston Park, in Stockton.
The event was organised by the Health Action Zone to promote its Get Out and Go campaign, aimed at encouraging people to develop more active lifestyles.
Throughout next month, a range of family activities will take place as part of the scheme, from walking and cycling to orienteering and Tai Chi, and prizes will be on offer to participants.
People will be encouraged to collect passports and have them stamped every time they complete a free activity, with those accruing five or more stamps being eligible for a prize draw.
