PLANS by transport campaigners to continue using a yard at Leeming Bar for storing and maintaining buses are being opposed by Aiskew parish councillors.
The Leases Road site has been criticised for looking like a scrapyard, containing old double-decker buses used by the Wensleydale Railway Company on scheduled services and school contracts.
Parish members want Hambleton District Council to reject an application by Wensleydale Railway plc for partly retrospective consent, for three years, for use of the former railway goods yard.
