A HOSPICE is planning a week of activities to mark the Year of the Volunteer.
Teesside Hospice's celebration of the national event began on Friday, with a balloon launch in which each balloon represented a volunteer. In the afternoon, East Cleveland volunteers were presented with long-term service awards.
Activities begin today with a full day of complementary therapy, followed by a celebration in Middlesbrough, including a presentation of long-service awards.
On Thursday, volunteers and prospective volunteers are invited to go along to the hospice, in Northgate Road, Linthorpe, for an open day.
