THE Darlington on-line centres project will be headed by Sally Hall, 38, from Sunderland.
She has worked in information technology for ten years, and has eight years of experience with a training company, giving her the expertise in the main areas needed for the role of project manager.
Ms Hall also has experience of managing small funding packages in communities.
Her last leading role was with the Mari Group, in Gateshead, which dealt with information technology training.
Further to the planned nine centres, Ms Hall sees a much bigger network across Darlington.
"What we want to see is that they are well-used and successful," she said.
"When we have got the nine up and running, we are then looking to develop them and then move into other subject areas.
"I think nine is a drop in the ocean for Darlington. There is still room for more."
