A DESIGN consultancy in Middlesbrough has been awarded a contract to provide electrical and instrumentation services at a new pharmaceutical plant on Teesside.

SEC E&I will install the services at the new Lundbeck Pharmaceuticals site at Seal Sands. The construction is the first phase of a multi-million pound expansion by the Danish firm.

SEC E&I, of Borough Road, Middlesbrough, is working on behalf of managing contractor, Foster Wheeler, to complete the contract. As well as undertaking the detailed design, and installing the instrumentation systems associated with the running of the plant, the company will also be responsible for buying all field instruments and actuated valves for the project as specified by Foster Wheeler.

Jeff Parsons, regional manager for SEC E&I, said: "The contract is being carried out under a negotiated agreement with Foster Wheeler and Lundbeck, featuring an incentive scheme in which SEC's profit is generated from successful achievement of safety, construction and cost targets."
