THE Tweenies will be making a flying visit to this year's Sunderland International Airshow.
The children's favourites will appear as part of the BBC's involvement in the event, which will include live broadcasts on radio and television.
The show will take place on July 28 and 29 and is the largest free air show in Europe.
The Tweenies will appear live on stage during the two-day spectacular.
Other performers will include Bonnie Tyler, Midge Ure, Steve Harley and The Christians, and a range of North-East entertainers.
BBC Radio Two's Richard Allinson will broadcast live on the Saturday and there will be appearances by North-East presenters Kathy Secker and Paddy MacDee.
Olwyn Hocking, head of regional and local programmes BBC North East and Cumbria, said: "We have loved reporting the Sunderland Airshow success story over the years and now it's great to be a real part of it."
