A COUPLE were sent for trial at Crown Court yesterday on charges of indecent assault.
Shirley Anne Allen, 53, and 58-year-old James Leslie Allen, of Stuart Avenue, Richmond, both appeared at a brief hearing at the town's magistrates court, where they spoke only to confirm their names.
Mrs Allen is charged with four offences of indecent assault between April 1995 and October 1997 - two on a person under 16 and two on a person aged 16 or over.
Mr Allen faces two allegations of aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring Mrs Allen to indecently assault a person under 16.
Both were committed for trial at Teesside Crown Court where a preliminary hearing will take place on September 7.
Mr and Mrs Allen were both granted unconditional bail.
