TEENAGE rock talent Pete Shoulder is hoping that he has moved nearer to signing a major recording deal.
The blues and rock singer-songwriter played a half-hour set for senior executives of Sony US, at a rehearsal studio in London.
They were impressed by the show and have asked him to go into a local recording studio to repeat the performance for video cameras so they can show it to senior colleagues in the US.
Guitarist Pete, 17, of Chester-le-Street, County Durham, said: "The band and I played really well, and I think they were impressed.
"There are still other companies interested. Hopefully, I'm moving closer to a deal. It is a very exciting time."
The guitarist and his band, made up of former members of Durham City group Sugarwood, are due to play at the city's Saints pub, tomorrow night. Admission is free.
