The League is urgently seeking an immediate replacement for referees secretary Ted Ilderton who has had to step down from the post he has held for the last 11 years.
"This is a crucial job and we need someone as soon as possible, as our season starts on Saturday," said league chairman Mike Amos, "the person appointed will have the support of other league officials, and ideally should have some refereeing experience."
