A neighbourhood enjoyed a knees-up last night.
Nearly 2,000 people joined Middlesbrough MP Stuart Bell to celebrate Thorntree Community Centre's 40th birthday.
Teesside Wind Band and the Maloney Dance School provided the entertainment.
Ward councillor Walter Ferrier said: "This is a celebration of the centre's contribution to life in Thorntree. If the next 40 years are as fruitful as the last 40, then residents of Thorntree have much to look forward to."
