Firefighters were called to a chip pan fire at Charltons, near Guisborough, yesterday.
One crew from Guisborough and one from Skelton attended the incident but by the time they arrived, the chip pan had been taken outside. Firefighters used breath- ing apparatus to put out the blaze.
There was 50 per cent smoke damage to the ground floor kitchen and 25 per cent smoke damage to the dining room and lounge.
