PLANS to create a tram network linked to the Tyneside Metro have been unveiled.
The proposals, under the new transport plan, will provide half the population of Tyne and Wear with access to the Metro.
The 15-year draft strategy details plans costing hundreds of millions of pounds to link parts of Sunderland, Gateshead and north Newcastle to the Metro system by trams
