PEOPLE living in rural areas will be able to surf the web as part of a new project.
The £90,000 National Lottery New Opportunities Fund scheme involves the setting up of 20 information and communications technology learning centres throughout Yorkshire at the heart of the community.
Users will learn basic computer skills including e-mail, Internet, word processing and presentation software.
Key groups targeted by the move are older people, rural small businesses and those living in isolated rural areas.
The money comes as part of a £1m New Opportunities Fund package for disadvantaged people to get online for work and leisure.
