RESIDENTS are being invited to have their say on green issues next week.

Gateshead Borough Council's environmental roadshow is canvassing views on its newly-published Draft Waste and Recycling Strategy.

The document sets out how the council hopes to increase the amount of waste recycled in the borough and reduce landfill of household waste.

Green-fingered residents can find out more about the authority's home composting scheme, with demonstrations and sales of the subsidised home composting bins.

People living in the borough are also being asked to take part in a survey on the strategy, which is published in this month's Council News magazine.

The roadshow will be open from 10am to 3pm at Trinity Square, Gateshead, on Tuesday, Victoria Square, Felling, on Wednesday and Blaydon shopping precinct on Thursday.

Copies of the strategy are available from Gateshead Civic Centre and libraries across the borough.
