Darlington slipped to their second consecutive home defeat with a 1-0 defeat against Brian Little's in-form Hull City.
Despite the visitors having a man sent off in first half injury time, Quakers couldn't force an opening as the Tigers defended in numbers.
Hull's only goal was a first half Gary Alexander penalty, deviously awarded after Craig Liddle was adjudged to have fouled Rodney Rowe.
Quakers were reduced to ten men themselves late in the match when Liddle left the field with a foot injury and as Mick Tait had used all of his three substitutes Darlington were forced to play the remainder of the game one man short.
