HARTLEPOOL United fell to their third home defeat of the season, as they went down 1-0 to Oxford.
Pool failed to build on Tuesday's win at Macclesfield as they produced their worst display of the season, losing to one of the sides below them at the foot of Division Three.
After losing Micky Barron through illness in the first half, Pool gave a disjointed display and never threatened the visiting goal.
The only goal of a drab encounter came on 48 minutes. Oxford striker Jamie Brooks broke away and after the ball fell for Paul Moody, he struck a low, first time shot into the corner of the net.
