AN award-winning soccer fanzine celebrated its centenary at the weekend.
The 100th edition of A Love Supreme rolled off the presses and was bought by Sunderland fans at the Stadium of Light before the drawn match with Arsenal.
The fanzine was launched by a small group of supporters in 1989, and has won the Fanzine of the Year award six times.
It is also the only fans' magazine to have had a hit in the singles chart - Niall Quinn's Disco Pants.
Editor Martyn McFadden said yesterday: "One minute it's Gates and Gabbiadini, the next it's Phillips and Quinn - A Love Supreme has seen it all.
"The magazine has been a permanent fixture for Sunderland fans, home and away, for 13 years, and each issue is like a snapshot of how the supporters felt at any one time.
"A Love Supreme has seen five Sunderland managers, red card protests, Anglo-Italian cups, ground moves, play-offs, championships, relegations and 2-1 wins at St James' Park."
Peter Daykin, who also edits the magazine, said: "It's a great milestone for us, and we are very proud.
