RECRUITMENT chiefs are offering Mickey Mouse jobs - but expect there will be a lot of interest.

Newcastle Jobcentre is holding an interview day on Monday, November 12, for people who want to work at the Disneyland Paris theme park.

It is looking for 3,000 staff who want to work permanently or just through the summer.

Posts are available in various areas, including hotel work, catering, sales, amusements, sports and leisure.

Laura Hooker, 18, of Amble, Northumberland, who is studying French and Spanish at Northumbria University, Newcastle, worked at the attraction this summer.

She said: "Disneyland Paris was a fantastic experience.

"Not only was it fun but I also found that dealing with people and practising my language skills meant that I got more out of my time in Paris than I had realised.

"It has really helped me with my university course.

"There were over 200 staff from the UK when I was there, including at least eight from the North of England.''

Laura said she hopes to land a job there again next summer.

The jobs are open to people over 18 who can speak French.
