ROCK legend Elvis Presley has inspired more impersonators than any other star.

But the latest tribute clone claims his similarity to the King of rock 'n' roll is more than skin deep. Elvis Aaron Presley Jr says the late star's blood courses through his veins, and that he is following in his father's footsteps to ensure the legacy continues.

The entertainer, who claims conclusive proof to show he is the singer's son, is bringing his act to the North-East to allow fans to judge for themselves.

Elvis Jr says he was the result of a "private liaison" between Elvis and a young star in the 1960s. The King was at the height of his fame, and those in charge of his career wanted to keep his reputation squeaky clean.

They put pressure on the mother to have an abortion. But she refused, giving the child up for adoption to a childless couple on the condition they should, in no circumstances, reveal the child's natural parents or seek money from the Presley family.

Elvis Jr says he was awarded his name by the Federal US Court after documents and sworn testimonies were presented to a judge.

He says his claim to the name was backed up by a lie detector test and blood and DNA tests, and that a last will and testament showed Elvis Presley had a son born out of wedlock.

Elvis Jr will appear at Newcastle City Hall on Wednesday, December 19.
